to throw my hat into the circle, it would seem works are irrelevant, regarding that we are all saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God , not of works, lest any man should boast. Kinda funny side note, I remember that scripture but can't in the life in me remember where it's exactly at. But to me, from what has been revealed to me, works seem so superficial. Pointless in a way. I mean yes you will be blessed by God for doing it but in my view, I am doing it out of my love and obedience to my Father in heaven. Yes we can all sit around fat dumb and happy but without works, how will the lost hear the word??? How will they know of the awesome relationship we have with Jesus if we, the Church, don't go out and do good works and tell our community??? I think it's these works that seems to be pleasing to God. However, don't be bragging or boastful about it to people. If you do, then you received your reward, which is an ego trip. Be humble in your works for God and let your Father be able to boast about you.

The working of God in us, and through us should bring praise to God for the Scripture says -

1 Cor. 4:7

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. John 5:43

you got to ask yurself is what is the effect of Christ in you. If Christ is in you then you have joy and peace. You can be weak and worthless but his grace is sufficient. If your heart condemns you, then God is greater. This is Christ working fur you. When Christ is working in you and for you, then yu sure as heck will be workin fur him. when yu throw in yur works, then you fall frum grace cus its nolonger Christ in you. To many Christians today wont let Christ work in them. Christians need to rest in Christ and work for Christ, then you never get tired of working.

but you got to know yur saved before Christ can work in you. if you dont experience salvaton in yur everyday livin, you aint going to do no works that are pleasin to the Lord.

Praise God!
