I hit on it to read of the so-called " Good Samaritan "

and then you're talking about, " eternal life "

and then, The " priests and the Levites "

King James

Luke 10:30
And Jesus answering said,
A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
and fell among thieves,
which stripped him of his raiment,
and wounded him,
and departed,
leaving him half dead.

Luke 10:31
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way:
and when he saw him,
he passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:32
And likewise a Levite,
when he was at the place,
came and looked on him,
and passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:33
But a certain Samaritan,
as he journeyed,
came where he was:
and when he saw him,
he had compassion on him,

Luke 10:34
And went to him,
and bound up his wounds,
pouring in oil and wine,
and set him on his own beast,
and brought him to an inn,
and took care of him.

Luke 10:35
And on the morrow when he departed,
he took out two pence,
and gave them to the host,
and said unto him,
Take care of him;
and whatsoever thou spendest more,
when I come again,
I will repay thee.

Luke 10:36
Which now of these three,
thinkest thou,
was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

Luke 10:37
And he said,
He that shewed mercy on him.

Then said Jesus unto him,
Go, and do thou likewise.

And My Favorite Verse is.

Luke
10:36

Which now of these three,
thinkest thou,
was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

But, More to the Point,
"Which now of these three,
thinkest thou
"

marco,

Jesus is the Good Samaritan.

I am the man laying beat to death on the side of the road.

a priest could not help me (religion offered me nothing)

a levite could not help me (the law could not help me)

BUT the Good Samaritan came.  He

1. had compa**ion on me

2. bound up my wounds

3. loaded me on his beast

4. brought me to rest in shelter

5. paid in advance for me the fine that was to come.

doesnt sound like i did anything.  sounds like he did everything.

thank you for the question marco.  I needed to be reminded about my Good Samaritan.

John 8.48 The Jews answered and said to Him, "Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?"

The Pharisee's were mistaken Jesus was a Samaritan and ever chance they got judged and showed partially.

God doesn't like partiality!

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, came from the Sea of Galilee. He was not a Samaritan because He called Himself a Jew "we Jews worship on this mountain" while speaking to the Samaritan woman in John 4.

These religious gurus will look at Samaritans dirty as dogs because the people weren't ceremonially cleanse like themselves as prescribed in the Law of Moses.

Paul the apostle explains in Ephesians 2 they wouldn't even sit together and actually a wall was built to separated the two.

And since Jesus would sit with them also thought he was a Samaritan.

Jesus will drive out demons right in front them and still wouldn't believe He was the Son of God. They thought He had receive power from Beezelbub(aka Lord of the Files--another name for Satan).

These guys were spiritually dead, completely!

The LORD Jesus knew they were dead wrong and tells them:

Jesus answered, "I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

Christ denies having a demon but He does not deny being a Samaritan. Why?

Symbolically, yes, Jesus in the third person spoke(though some don't believe it) about himself as the Parable of the Good Samaritan and other Parables in the Gospels(for example, the Talents or Minas in Matthew 25! But let's get this straight: he wasn't born as a Samaritan!
